Privacy Policy

How League of Snow protects your personal information, specialized medical dossiers, and real-time field telemetry across our global expeditions.

Effective Date: October 17, 2026Protocol Revision: 3.2 (Telemetry & GDPR Compliant)Jurisdiction: Global Alpine / India
Zero-Compromise Explorer Confidentiality

At League of Snow, we recognize that planning extreme planetary expeditions requires sharing sensitive personal data — including government passports, physical conditioning histories, and continuous satellite telemetry in the field. We treat your personal and medical data with the same surgical precision and discipline that we apply to alpine ascents. We never monetize, sell, or rent your personal data to advertisers.

01

Our Commitment to Explorer Privacy

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) delineates how League of Snow Expeditions Ltd. (“League of Snow”, “we”, “our”, “us”) gathers, maintains, secures, and discloses information gathered through our web platforms, mobile interfaces, expedition inquiry forms, and field satellite telemetry systems.

This Policy applies to all explorers, mountaineers, clients, and website visitors (“you”, “Participant”). By accessing our platforms or registering for an expedition, you consent to the data practices described in this document.

02

Categories of Information We Collect

To coordinate complex high-altitude logistics and international permits, we collect information across several stages:

  • Identity & Contact Data: Full legal name, date of birth, biological sex, country of citizenship, email address, telephone/WhatsApp number, emergency contacts, and residential address.
  • Travel & Government Documentation: Passport copies, passport number, expiration dates, visa records, passport-sized photographs, and relevant immigration clearance paperwork needed for sovereign climbing permits.
  • Financial & Transactional Data: Invoicing records, wire transfer remittance confirmations, billing details, and records of payments processed via secure, PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment gateways.
  • Technical & Usage Information: Browser type, operating system, IP address, device fingerprints, and anonymized user behavior patterns captured during your visits to our website.
03

Special Category Data: High-Altitude Medical & GPS Telemetry

Because of the life-safety imperatives of high-altitude and remote polar travel, League of Snow collects and handles specialized sensitive data under strict confidentiality:

Field Medical Dossiers & Real-Time Coordinates:
  • Pre-Trip Medical Dossier: Blood group, dietary restrictions, chronic illnesses, prescription medications, allergy profiles, cardiovascular histories, and physician fit-to-climb sign-offs.
  • Daily Telemetry Readings: Twice-daily resting pulse oximetry (SpO2), heart rate logs, and mountain sickness scores recorded during high-altitude ascents.
  • Satellite GPS Tracking Coordinates: Real-time latitude, longitude, and elevation broadcasts generated by Garmin InReach or Iridium satellite beacons carried by expedition teams for 24/7 mission control monitoring.

* Note: Medical and biometric data are accessed exclusively by certified Expedition Medical Officers, Lead Guides, and emergency evacuation physicians in the event of life-safety response.

04

How and Why We Process Your Data

We use your information strictly for legitimate operational, contractual, and life-safety objectives:

  • Procuring sovereign national park climbing permits, conservation passes, and military border clearances (e.g. Sagarmatha National Park, Hemis Reserve, Svalbard Sysselmesteren);
  • Arranging specialized charter flights (MI-8 helicopters, ski-planes into Kahiltna or Lukla, icebreaker transfers);
  • Ensuring high-altitude medical readiness, altitude acclimatization calibration, and personalized nutrition plans;
  • Transmitting real-time GPS coordinates to our 24/7 base ops telemetry desk for continuous search-and-rescue monitoring;
  • Responding to your inquiries and delivering expedition itineraries, gear manifests, and tactical dispatches.
05

Government Permits, Logistics Partners & Emergency Sharing

League of Snow does not sell, barter, or distribute your personal information to marketing bureaus. We only share information with verified third-party entities necessary for expedition execution:

  • National Park & Government Ministries: Tourism departments, forest conservation services, and immigration agencies for legal registration of your climbing roster.
  • Emergency Search & Rescue Providers: In the event of acute altitude illness, injury, or weather entrapment, your medical dossier, GPS telemetry, and insurance policies are immediately relayed to air ambulance helicopter operators and emergency trauma centers.
  • Local In-Country Field Logistics Partners: Licensed high-altitude Sherpa teams, indigenous wildlife trackers, and polar transport operators who require explorer name manifests for safety gear provisioning.
06

Cross-Border & International Data Transfers

League of Snow operates expeditions spanning seven continents — including remote regions of Nepal, Tanzania, Norway, Chile, Argentina, India, and the United States.

When you register for an international expedition, your passport and registration data are necessarily transferred across international borders to local authorities and logistics agencies in your destination country. We ensure all external partners comply with stringent data confidentiality and security standards.

07

Data Security & Encryption Protocols

We maintain defense-grade administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure of your sensitive information:

  • All digital transmissions between your browser and our servers are encrypted using modern Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3 / SSL);
  • Expedition dossiers and medical questionnaires are stored on secure cloud repositories with 256-bit AES encryption at rest;
  • Access to participant medical declarations is restricted solely to the Lead Physician and Chief Expedition Commander;
  • Routine vulnerability assessments and penetration audits are performed on our infrastructure.
08

Data Retention & Archival Policies

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was gathered, including:

  • Fulfilling legal, immigration, and national park audit requirements (typically 5 to 7 years post-expedition for tax and permit records);
  • Maintaining historical summit logs and alumni rosters with your consent;
  • Medical records are securely archived post-expedition and erased upon statutory expiration unless ongoing monitoring is requested.
09

Your Explorer Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable local and international data protection laws (such as GDPR, CCPA, and India’s DPDP Act), you possess fundamental rights regarding your information:

  • Right of Access: Request a full copy of all personal records and telemetry logs associated with your profile;
  • Right of Rectification: Promptly correct any erroneous or outdated information;
  • Right of Erasure: Request the deletion of your personal data where statutory retention obligations do not apply;
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Opt out of promotional dispatches or public alumni summit photo galleries at any time.
